Their story

Jay and Sandra are a couple who found themselves without a home — and at real risk of being separated, the way so many couples are when they hit the streets. We met them where they were, and we made a promise: we’d help them stay together, stay safe, and get back to stable ground.

What we’re doing right now

We’ve gotten Jay and Sandra into an apartment at $850 a month — a cost Little Light Movement is covering for now, so they have a real roof over their heads today, not someday.

At the same time, we’re working to get them into a long-term housing program or an income-based unit (like Lyons and others) where rent is capped at about 30% of income — so their housing becomes sustainable, with or without us.
